100th post, and huge news!

How very lucky am I that I have huge news, and it also happens to be my 100th post on this particular blog. (Meaning, since I jumped over from Myspace... I don't miss it. I haven't even logged into Myspace in most likely, 2 months)

Yesterday started something major for me.
You've seen it coming.

The Asylum for Wayward Yarn is now up and running. It's a little bare at the moment. I'm working on logos and such like that.

I posted my first set of stitch markers.
A set of 4 Doctor Who "Pinstripe 10" themed gems. I already knew there was interest in them prior to posting them for sale. And guess what, they sold immediately. (didn't get the confirmation until after I came into work, simply because I had to go to bed at my normal time, and I don't have time to check my email before I come into work)
I had already had the package ready to go, it just needed the address, the postage, and the envelope to be sealed.
Mother of Mine has kindly added those last few pieces so that it will go out in the post today instead of tomorrow.

I am excited.

Here are the envelopes ready to go:
Photobucket

I had stopped off at Hobby Lobby on the way home and picked up some more fixings, also so as to pick up some envelope blanks, so that I could decorate them and of course get things shipped out.

Here are the fronts of the notecards:

New set of markers I made last night: and you can also see the inside of the notecards

Beth Turner, and some more Pinstripe 10

Tonight I must work on more of the skeins. If I get time, I will make more stitch markers, but first comes the skeins.
I still haven't gotten my dye pot. I hope it arrives today.
The knitting is going slowly, as the past few nights I've been focusing on *ahem* other things.

The next set of stitch markers, shall be Mick St. John. I look forward to him.
I also plan on having in my shop a "Mix and Match" option, so that, say if people want some of Beth and some of Mick, they can have it.

Alright. Time for me to get cracking at work.

I'm just very excited.

Oh. Quicky book review:
Dead and Gone - Charlaine Harris
Finished last night. I can see why some people are starting to feel that CH is kind of loosing the steam when it comes to the Sookie verse.
I don't quite know how to explain it. But whenever something major was happening, it reminded me of my first notes. It didn't actually show much of the violence (thinking of a big scene towards the end). It was written in the "I didn't think they would cut me. They did." type style. That style was how I would do my quick shorthand notes. Not the finished product. I don't know. I really don't know how to describe it. I don't know if I'm happy about what happened to a certain Vamp. Actually wait.. that really bugged me. This certain person had silver capped teeth. This person bit a vampire. That vampire was supposedly then poisoned. WTF? how would being bitten by silver be any different than having a silver chain cut into their flesh? Why then did they not get silver poisoning then? Totally a cop-out methinks. And also, CH forgot her own rules. Bill entered a house without permission (or no permission that we were aware of).

Alright I'm done for now as I really must get back to work.

Bugs and Hisses people.

A busy weekend

So today I was productive. I was also productive yesterday, but that is a different story.

Today I made some stitch markers.

These, were made for two girls on Ravelry whom did me a huge favor. Of course, since I had all the pieces parts, I decided to make a couple of more. (The girls will get 1 each)
I haven't decided if I'll save them for when I'm doing yarnie stuff, or if I should perhaps put them up for sale on Etsy... The are made from Swarovski crystal.
Of course, these are of Doctor Who, and specifically my loverly Pinstripe wearing Ten.

This little penguin was made for myself, but I have decided to gift him to my swap victim, as I had mostly buttons for her and not many stitch markers. But, I can get another of him, so I'll be making another for myself.

And lastly..
Mother of Mine found these "emeralds" for me, they are absolutely gorgeous, and are very OZ like. When I was getting my other materials for the other stitch markers, I found these pins.. They also reminded me of OZ.
So these, which are only for myself (as the pins were a bitch to work with and fought me every step of the way, which is why one of them is a little more bent then it should) and I am calling them Kiamo Ko.

Oh, and the random Button one in there, was actually a set of earrings that Dot made me. I was of course highly allergic to the earrings, so I never wore them and so I decided to make them into stitch markers and send them off in the Button and Stitch Marker swap. Very appropriate if I do say so myself.

Now, my victim for the swap.. I have to say is getting damned spoiled. As all buttons were 50% off, so she is getting a freaking lot. I most likely will not be as lucky, as well.. thats how it goes.

I said yesterday was productive as well. We completely rearranged the house. Okay, it wasn't that drastic, but it involved shuffling things around the entire house because our house isn't that big.
The main thing, was the couch. But moving a couch is so much more involved then most people would think. It meant moving 2 other chairs, and also cleaning cleaning cleaning, making room in the room that the couch was going up into and so on and so forth.
Both our backs are sore, and we ended the day exhausted, and cranky, and broken. My leg was hurt during the process, but it's doing better. The cat is slowly accepting the new arrangement, but he was quite freaked out by the entire thing.

After the move, we also decided to go through the leather trunk of mine that is full of fabric. Quite seriously, it is a huge steamer type trunk that was chock full of fabric. We put it all in one of those space saver bags, and it now is only taking up about a fourth of the entire trunk. I gotta say, I am entirely impressed with it, and will definitely be using those bags on ALLLLLLL my stuff for the big move.

Alright. I'm done babbling. I need a brownie.

Next post, or at least one in the near future, shall be talking about my Playful Bites sock. There shall be pictures even. I'm kicking ass on this sock.

Oh, and PS:
Just came up with a few more colorways. But I want to get permission first. Then I'll talk about it.

A tease of an idea...

Just something that amuses me greatly.

And no. I'm not gonna talk about it.

And if you don't know where it's from, then shame on you.

Frogged and A Hot Fairy Tale

I do feel like such a slacker for not having written any of AHDB recently, but the stress of normal life, was making me unable to write as my cathartic release.
I've been knitting instead.

I started to teach myself how to do Cables, so that I could get a leg up on the Alexandra coat that I've been talking about for months.

I'm very, very glad that I decided to give it a go with normal yarn as opposed to my Lucien. (Which, I know has been dyed, but I have not received due to the "club" nature of it. I'll get my first two skeins of it in the next few weeks)

I was banging my head against the wall trying to do the cable chart, and then I finally said screw it, and cast on the entire project, as if I'm doing it entirely.

Well, I discovered my first problem. I was counting the chart as 26 stitches, instead of the 25 it actually was. That was just my mind merging a symbol that looked like another symbol, hence getting 26 instead of 25.

But, once I got past that, I discovered other problems. I didn't get 7 rows before I ran into this problem.
After frogging and putting it back on at least half a dozen times, I gave up and started poking about online.

Thats when I made a significant discovery. Everyone (minus one person) has had extreme problems with the pattern. There are many bugs in it, and entire parts missing from the instructions.

Woohoo. This means it's not me messing it up! It means that it's just a bad pattern.

Well, one of the girls I was chatting with, talked about picking up the project again and completely rewriting the pattern, but she hadn't thought about that in forever (really not since she had put down the pattern in the first place)

But, me chatting with her reminded her how much she loved the sweater and how it looks, and thus is inspired to possibly pick it up again. If she does, she'll send me the pattern. Which at this point, I'd trust her pattern over the original author any day. (The author put errata up on the pattern site, only after the girl I was chatting with pointed out the mistakes, and it doesn't count all the mistakes)

I'm about to start Marissa's project, as I picked up the last skein of yarn I needed today.

This, most definitely might count as the "neat thing" & holiday gift, as it is quite a well.. it's a good project. I hope she'll like it.

Everyone else is just getting a little small item.

I am also, starting a "Princess Bride Read-Knit-Along"
I've never read the Princess Bride.. I remember starting it in the 5th grade, but that was the day before school was ending, and I couldn't borrow the book from my friend. So I read a total of 1 page before I had to give it back, and somehow it has managed to not make it in my reading pile all these years. So I have till June 21st to finish reading the book and knit something related to The Princess Bride.

I now have a copy of the book, as I finally checked out "Hooked on Books" which is not far from my house. I like it much more than The Book Rack. But still not as impressed. I guess I'm just spoiled thanks to The Bookworm (Boulder).

The version I have is amusing. I think it was a cover that was directed towards the adults rather than kids. It's got artwork from like the 80's. But the back... the back is amusing..

“What Happens-
When the most beautiful girl in the world marries the handsomest prince in the world and he turns out to be a son of a bitch?”

I also picked up:
Death Du Jour by Kathy Reitchs, it's the next in the Bones books.
Shakespeare's Landlord by Charlaine Harris, first in the Shakespeare series
Dead to the World by Charlaine Harris, 4th book in the Sookie Stackhouse series - mmm Eric. love him.
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, woohoo.. finally gonna get to read it.

I was able to justify buying the books, because I only spend 23$ for all the books, and they are all books I plan on sending to Guy to read during the summer break and books to get him through exam times etc.

We ended up going to the bead store, and I'm honestly surprised how much I got for as little as I spent. Mother of Mine had a 5$ gift certificate, so with buying a bead for her, I only ended up spending 3$ (and 1.60$ of that was the bead for her)

Oh, random knitting note (sorry, typing past my bed time.. what do you expect?)

Having figured out how to DO cables, I have now accomplished one of my two main goals for the year. The next is to tackle simple socks. Woohoo.

Mother of Mine and I hunted slightly for Easter dinner. Which I can't recall if I've spoken of or not.

Now as you all know, I do not celebrate the christian holidays as I am not christian. But as Mother of Mine is connecting with her church and stuff like that, I am supportive of her. So I was sitting there thinking what we might want for Easter dinner, because she'll want to have something nice.
And really, the only thing that came to my mind was "Hmmm.. Rabbit would be nice."

Yes, I am that twisted.

Rabbit on Easter. bwhahahahaha

Unfortunately, the rabbit is not meant to be (this year). We left of inquiring about it till today, and the only kind we would be able to get would be whole (ugh) and frozen.

Nope, won't work for this year.

Oh, random jump.. sorry again..
I finally found the damn buttons. Remember the quest for the buttons? I hadn't gone to JoAnn's. Honesty I just should have looked there first. Perfect purple buttons, and I'm slick enough that they are the perfect size. Again, they were 50% off. SWEEET.
They are even stitched on to the leg warmers. So, as soon as Mother of Mine finishes weaving in the ends (i did the buttons, but it was her knitting project) i'll get to wear them, and will also post photos.
The purple was a grand choice and goes well with the blue. Woohoo!

Random: watching Alias season two.. and it is just always weird to see a Russian Cowboy bar and Russian cowboy songs it is not new, but it still amuses me (First time I ever saw it was of course James Bond, Goldeneye. But that was still in english)

Work: It was a rough beginning of the week just because things were changed and other things were in the spotlight. Nothing was my fault as I wasn't there. But it was blown out of proportion due to it being something that really NEVER happens. It just happened to happen and it bit us. (Mostly, the only reason it happened at all, is because one of our agents screwed up in the first place. Then things just slipped)
So that lead to meetings, and more meetings, and more meetings. Which just made it an unbelievably tiresome and hectic week, and made me freak out about my job. I really do just need to remember to take a deep breath and remember that I am a good worker, and I do my job, and that I'm not one of the people they want to let go.
It didn't help my mindset either to find out that another one of my Ravelry buddies ended up being let go this week as well. It was completely out of the blue, which is another reason everything that happened made me so freaked.

I should stop rambling about it. As I am rambling as I am quite tired.

Later peoples...

Oh, one last note:
Doctor Who season 4... FREAKING AWESOME!
We just finished watching it. And OH MY GODS.

I still don't like Catherine Tate, but I do like Donna a bit more.

And everything else... just... wow.. wow wow wow wow.

Another random note:
I have an entire rant to post soon, but I'm too tired to try to rant about it now, and when I first went to rant about it, Blogger didn't want to work on my work computer. So, I've got it sitting waiting for ranting.

Slippery Slopes and Torchwood Babiez

So other than posting the new colorway.. wait.. did I do that yesterday, or was it the day before???

Either way, yesterday was not a day for much of anything. As soon as I walked into work, I got hit with one of my migraines. Ugh. Joy.

Thankfully I was able to keep it mostly at bay, and then by the time I went home it was gone. I am glad I didn't let my boss convince me to go home.

I did not do a lick of knitting yesterday, nor writing, nor reading, nor much of anything.

Well thats not true.. yesterday while at work, I started typing up the "chatty" bit of a pattern I'm creating. Meaning the backstory of why it has come about.
And I read a few pages in Another Life (Torchwood) before going to sleep. But otherwise.. not much was done.

Finished watching Hamish MacBeth season 2, I like that show. This season bugged me a bit on a few things, but it ended well enough. and egads.. Robert Carlyle was so young!

Today was one of those days starting off...
wide awake when my alarm first went off. Then immediately realized that i could not wait 30 minutes before using the ladies. Sigh. Out of bed. Back in bed. Quite literally i started to be the most comfortable, the perfect temperature, and in "mmm sleeeeeeep" mode, literally minutes before my alarm was to go off again. Sigh. Thats just bloody not fair!
Getting ready for the day, I had an odd combination of Queen (Bohemian Rhapsody - the "nothing really matters" part) mixed with one of the Wicked songs. Now that I am typing this out, i cannot recall which song. But it was a very weird and perfect combination. lol.

I sit here at work, a touch of a headache starting. I think I've tweaked my neck which is causing this... but so far it's at bay.
And I've only got 4 hours left in my work day right now, with not much to do.

I've got one or two errands to run when I get off work but then I'll be home.. chilling, and hopefully knitting. I want to get the pattern worked out, so that I can have someone test it. I have to admit that I'm going to be very proud of myself if this works out, because it will be a pattern that I have fully created. I'm not going off of someones instructions, I'm not going off of anything I already know. I'm doing it myself, with only the occasional question to Mother of Mine on how to do a stitch that is necessary that I've never done.
That point might put me to a stopping point, due to needing "the perfect yarn" to actually do the project. Right now it's just being done in my "stitch practicing" yarn. I unfortunately doubt I'll find the perfect color in a non wool yarn, therefore I will either have to have someone dye it for me.. or I'll just have to dye it myself. I have a feeling I'll have to dye it myself to get it exactly the way i want it. Which means possibly tabling the project till I move to the UK, because as I've decided, I'm not going to learn how to dye or start a new hobby while here in the US. But, I don't know.. mayhaps a 1 time breaking of the rule?

No.. i prolly shouldn't do that. It's a slippery slope, because I'm already thinking about two projects I want to do in a solid color yarn that I will most likely have to dye myself. (that would be one batch of dye for 2 projects because I want them both in that color....)

See the slippery slope??

Now on to some fun stuff... I've been meaning to share it previously.. but kept forgetting..

Torchwood Babiez

And yes, i have decided that when I spawn.. and the spawn is still too young to be in anything more than a "bundle" type costume.. I shall have my spawn be a Ianto babiez. I think he's absolutely adorkable. I love it.

My other fave is of course the Doctor Babiez. the slipper.. the glasses.. the absolutely adorableness of it all... i could die from the cuteness.

Perspective and Doctor Who socks...

So, I am blogging at work out of sheer boredom. So please forgive any typos.

Lets run a few things down.
Last month, was hell at work.

Friday.. the last work day of the month, was a "meh" one for me. I got spoken to about some negative feedbacks that I had gotten. That always puts me in an ancy mood. For the record, 1 of them was COMPLETELY bogus. the lady must have been smoking crack, because I know I didn't do any of the things she said I did. And considering the next ticket she had under her name, she was helped by someone at *cough* another help desk that will remain nameless... it would not surprise me if she simply mixed up who helped her on which ticket. I know I didn't do what she said I did because 1) if I connect with her computer at all, I freaking put our entire ticket template in the ticket. if I simply give her instructions on how to fix it, I don't. Guess what, there was no template. i did not connect with her computer, therefore I could not have put her on hold for 10 minutes while connected to her machine. 2)I dont' put people on hold. I detest hold music, so the only time someone gets put on hold with me is when I'm calling the other help desks per process. This, was not the case for her situation.
The lady was smokin' something. (and yes, I'm trying to keep things mostly vague so that I don't get in trouble)
Another one of the tickets was also mostly bogus.
But still, here I was freaking out about 4 negative feedbacks.

The weekend rolls about, and Sunday as you all know was the Vamp Club sign up. Which I made it by the by. I was the second person to sign up, but I think the 1st person and I signed up at the same time, she jsut got in a second faster. No biggie, I'm in. Thats all that matters.

Monday, I'm still in a Vampy club high.. I drive into work determined that it is going to be a good day, and that it is going to be a good Month.

I start working... my boss comes over and tells me that they had to layoff 4 people. This did not surprise me. And the choices did not surprise me. I just wish there had been one more specific name on the list. But alas it wasn't.

Now, with Friday still fresh in my mind, I start panicking even more.

About an hour later, I start doing my Month totals.

Now again, I'm not going to go into too much detail.
847. Thats the amount of 1st call attempt tickets I did.
then throw in about 200 other inbound calls/ and or 2nd call attempt tickets.

yup, I did approx 1000 tickets the month of Feb. Holy crap. No wonder I was stressed.

Lets put this in perspective, our entire desk, did just over 4000 tickets for the month.

We had anywhere between 9-15 people each day depending on need.

I did a fucking quarter of the entire months work??????

Once I found that out... yeah.. I felt better. I feel slightly safe.

Moving along.
The past 2 days though have been completely slow and boring. The complete opposite of Feb, so sigh. It makes the desire to work even less.
This morning, I created an entire TARDIS sock chart in MS Excel.
I was frustrated, because after searching for a good TARDIS image, and then turning it into a sketch format, and then having to basically redraw the entire thing... Knitpro still didn't give me a chart I liked. And seriously.. all that photo editing was done in crappy MS paint of all things.

But, I now have a good chart from Excel.. I'm waiting on a little bit of info from a girl who's socks I based the pattern off of, and then I might start knitting them up. Who knows. Either way, when I do finally start knitting socks, I have a pattern to try and the BBC can't yell at me since I did not purchase, nor am I selling the pattern or the final product I shall create.

But now that I have finished that little project, I am insufferably bored.

I could leave early, but I don't want to. I like leaving early on Fridays.

I guess I should go back to work now.

Later people.

Petition for Hamlet

I promise, I promise I will update soon.

But just a little announcement.

GO SIGN THIS!!!

David Tennant In Hamlet

What is it? It is a petition to get the production of David Tennant in Hamlet onto DVD.

Even if you don't like Hamlet. Or you don't like David Tennant. Please, just do it anyway. There are people who do enjoy it and I for one want to see it, and I know I'll never get to the UK in time to see him performing in it.

Hamlet is one of my favorites, so please.. at least do this for me!
And for those who don't know David Tennant was in Doctor Who.

Repo! A night of selfish enjoyment.

Yup. I said it. Entirely selfish of me to have a night out of enjoyment with a friend.

A friend I have not seen in honestly far too long. It is my Fernando.
It was the first time he and I got to spend time with no one else around. It was quite enjoyable. I didn't know what to expect, since though I've known him for a long time now, like I said, I've never been around him when it's just us.

We had a pleasant non date date. Two friends, having dinner and seeing a movie that we both were practically piddling ourselves in delight with the prospect of actually viewing.

I very much needed to go out. So much so that Mother of Mine would have forced me to go if I had decided to stay home. I had an absolute horrible day, where a 'discussion' with someone caused me to not only need to stop home on the way from work and get ice cream (which made me promptly ill), but also had me so distraught and upset, that I was bawling like a baby not once but twice. The first time having been alone, with an upset stomach, and just anger and tears and absolute sadness. I have not been that upset by someone in a long time. But, I am not going to go into that. I took a shower, got ready for the night, and went out because I knew it would be good for me, and I would have fun.

I picked Fernando up at his work, and we drove to Denver, and spent a few hours waiting for the midnight show of Repo! The Genetic Opera.

For those who don't know what I'm speaking of, please check out the website www.repo-opera.com

The entire drive up to Denver, we were talking about how excited we were to see the movie.
The theater was pretty much exactly where I remembered it. Which is funny, because I've never actually been to that theater and have only driven past it mayhaps once. It is out in the boonies of Littleton. The Elvis Cinema. Which that unto it's self made a certain someone (not me) nearly piddle with delight.

So of course we are there early. We arrived at 7 pm, show doesn't start till Midnight. There were a few other people waiting.. children for the most part. One girl who honestly should not have been wearing the nurses outfit she was wearing. It was entirely unflattering. Fernando and I were nearly having seizures being around that horrible "dress".
In truth the only individual in the group that was remotely appealing to talk to was actually "Gimpy" as he labeled himself. I honestly do not recall if he ever told us his real name. As far as the nickname was going, he was having issues with his leg which was requiring him to use a cane to have mobility. He was genuinely nice to talk to.

After a while, the man in charge of the show came around, and found my name on his clip board. I of course was one of the small number of people who had purchased my tickets, and therefore received a refund. But our names were on the list to get "preferential" treatment since well... we actually were the first to secure tickets long before it was ever announced that it was going to be a free show. Fernando had not bought his tickets online, but as he was with me, Mark the guy in charge gave him his ticket right away, and he also later got to enter the theater first with me.
Yup.. rockstar treatment *wink*

Prior to the show starting, Fernando and I got to speak with Mark the guy in charge, because we were curious what his role with the Repo world was. Turns out he just got to see the show in Atlanta, GA (the Road Tour- and if i'm not mistaken the same show a friend of mine got to go to. I'll have to ask her), well he just fell in love with it and decided that he was going to make it available to people in Colorado (I'm assuming he's from here, but we didn't get to speak for that long to be able to find out.) It was because of the excitement of the people like myself and Fernando is why he did it. (Again, I repeat myself, we were practically piddling ourselves in excitement)
I have been waiting for this show for nearly a year now.
Lets just say, it has been worth the wait, as in 1 month, I get the free show, the Dvd released and the Road Tour.

The Road Tour, for those who aren't in the know is where the director, and the co creator (and GraveRobber himself) Terrance Z, and Allison from Rocklove jewelery, all get in cars etc and pack up the movie and bring it to town. Sign autographs etc.

Again, the amount of excitement I am having over the Road Tour is very piddle worthy.

Apparently "Piddle" is my word of the day lol.

During the last very moments prior to the movie starting, I was called to speak so as to inform the crowd of what the deal is with Rocklove jewelry and that the proceeds from the Scalpel necklace designed specifically for Repo, goes to making the Road Tour happen.

Well, Em a friend of mine was also at the show. Which was nice. She came and sat with meself and Fernando as I was the only person there that she knew. It was good catching up with her. As hers is a friendship that mostly was lost due to me leaving the Rogues and also not being apart of the other group.

The movie it's self was orgasmic inducing sort of wonderful.
It very much is the Rocky Horror of the new generation. The film was frankly beautiful, it was dark, it was gory in some spots. And the acting... all of the acting, even I have to admit that Paris Hilton herself was passable. I cannot say she was good, as those words will never cross my lips, nor be typed from my fingers.

But everyone did amazing jobs. Anthony Stewart Head was absolutely.. just.. breath taking. He was brilliant. (And a bit creepy.. go see the movie, you'll understand)
Sarah Brightman was just amazing as always. And for me, the one who stole the show was the GraveRobber himself Terrance Z.
Unfortunately, I do know one of his songs did not make the cut, which disappointed me, as I would have liked to see him more. Oh well, I always have the soundtrack with his wonderful amazing voice.

For the Repo Road Tour in 2 weeks (if i can ever get tickets. The fucking Mayan Theater still hasn't updated the website- actually I just gave them a ring, and they are still having problems with the ticketing system but it SHOULD be fixed on Monday.) But anyways, Fernando and I will be going in costume.
I shall be going as the GraveRobber. For reasons being that I think he is the coolest character. My fave 3 of the show are GraveRobber, RepoMan, and Blind Mag. But for me the costumes for the last two would be too involved, and would have to find space in my boxes to ship to the UK. GraveRobber is a lot easier by the fact that I already have acceptable boots, I simply need a coat, a shirt of the right color, and I already have the right pants (or at least pants that will work- for once, Walmart came through, and they were even on sale. And hell I can even wear them to work). Walmart also came through on the little bits for my hair accessories. I had originally thought I would chop up a few of my wigs that I no longer really use at all, but this will be easier, and they are well.. damn perfect for 1.74$ After that it's just a matter of putting a little makeup on. It means I'm not freezing my ass off in a skimpy little outfit, and I get to be one of my fave characters. As Fernando will be making me the coat, it's all set. I cannot go out and purchase the proper coat, nor would I. And I cannot justify making it myself, as it breaks my "no more costuming rule" (see the whole packing for the UK situation), but... as Fernando is going to make the coat for me, I must accept the gift. Not to mention, I'm sure it will turn out beautiful, and I shall have a new winter coat. Not the traditional winter coat that I had been quasi looking for to replace my tatterd one. But, a coat none the less. It will also be a good chance to see what Fernando's skill is, as there is discussion that he will be making my wedding gown.

Fernando, shall be going as the RepoMan, which is perfect for him. He also can justify making the costume as he is not shipping things to the UK in 17 months lol.

We shall be happy little geeks at the show. Yes, there will be pictures.
I do know Em took a photo of us after the show, I will post that soon as she gives it to me.

Driving home, Fernando and I talked about writing. He is a writer as well, and I bounced some things off of him for my novel.
I hadn't spoken of my thoughts to anyone, as I am currently setting down the rules for my vampires.
Fernando loved my ideas. To him, they were plausible and original.
It was very refreshing talking to him about writing, it was part of what I needed. I ended the night in a state of calm, and utter excitement.

I got in the door after 3:30 am, which for me is a big deal. I'm generally in bed by 8. And yes, I was falling asleep prior to the movie starting, but after the movie started I was wide awake. Woot.
But so I take Pan to bed, and sleep with dreams and music of Organ repossession. Ideas for my Graverobber costume (see above), and also ideas for various Repo themed knitted stuff that I someday might design. And then in a brief moment (or at least it felt like that), my alarm went off telling me it was 5 am. Pan then wanted to be let out. So I drag myself out of bed and feed him. He apparently did not need to use the little kitties box, so we went back to bed. Where he spent a minimum of 20 minutes whining to be let out again. I wanted to kill him. I told him that a few times even. Finally he settled down and I got to on and off sleep until 9 am.
Finally I knew if I stayed in bed after that, I would end up with my headaches. So, I hauled my butt out of bed again. Stumbled downstairs, put in an episode of Six Feet Under, and just starting to check my email.
Mother of Mine woke up, and we decided to go out to get groceries as it was early. We went to breakfast at La Baguette. Which was very nummy. I currently have an Almond croissant and an Apple croissant waiting for me as a snack at some point.

On the way back after the expedition to walmart, we stopped at DSW, and I actually finally found a pair of shoes. I spent 45$ on a pair of mens shoes (the only womens shoes that fit the bill of what I wanted, I wasn't entirely thrilled with, and also they had nothing remotely close to my size). But I grabbed a size 8 mens, and it fit perfectly (ha. I haven't bought mens shoes for myself in over 10 years, but i got the conversion spot on on the first try!). Mother of Mine tried to tempt me with a pair of Dr. Martins that were absolutely gorgeous. They were I think 10 hole laceup, but with a side zipper. And they were on sale for 30%. I could not justify spending 70$ right then (after the 30% off), even though those were a freaking steal and I should have jumped on them. Oh well, there will be a time in my life where I won't have to worry about justifying a new pair of shoes.

On a random note, the new Doctor was announced last night. Everyone other than Guy appears to be bitching about how young he is. Honestly people.. get over it. It's called "demographics". A hot young leading man will bring in even more female viewers. Just as a hot young female will bring in the male viewers, along with the action etc. Due to Loosing David Tennant, I'm quite sure the producers and network went "Oooh crap. We need something to keep all those women DT brought in!"
Pretty much all the Doctors after William Hartnell were of the younger persuasion, generally in their 30s. Who cares if the new one is 26??? By the time he actually takes the mantel of the Doctor, he'll be 27, if not turning 28.
And also.. no one would accept seeing an old(er) man as the Doctor. No one anymore wants the Grandfather.
And you know what... if he auditioned.. and they decided that he had the chops that it would take to fill the Doctor's shoes, than I say give him a chance. I didn't like DT at first. Now I'm so very sad that he's gone.
9 was my first Doctor, but 10 was the one that I fell in love with.

I guess I have rambled enough for this blog. I do apologize for that. But it's been a busy 24 hours lol.
I've given up on Six Feet Under, and I have moved onto season 1 of The Unit.
I am in a contented place about the rules of my vampires in my world, as that had been bothering me, and I feel I might be able to move forward in my writing now.

Another month bites the dust. (Really long. Sorry)

Today was most bored at work. I mulled my way through it though, doing enough work so that no one can say I didn't. Yes, I could have done more. But to be honest.. I'll still have done more than anyone else, so why should they be complaining??
I left work early at 12, which is normal.
I for some odd reason went over to the mall. GASP.
Yes, less than a week before Christmas and I went to the mall.
There were a few reasons for this. I wanted to find a calendar for us. Nope still didn't find one. But i have a better idea of what i want. That was at Borders. Which apparently was having a 40% off one item sale. As I had walked in the store, I came across two printed off coupons for it that someone must have dropped.
Well, I used one and I handed the other to the girl standing in line behind me. I did buy something, but I can't talk about it as Mother of Mine happens to follow my blog now, to quote her (said with a smile) "it's none of your(her) damn business!"
Then I wondered over to Old Navy in hopes of possibly finding a pair of jeans on the clearance rack that fit me. The jeans I have right now.. both jeans that i currently use most in my jean circulation both hit me odd at the ankle and it drives me crazy. I detest my socks being so visible when I sit down. Now these jeans are fine during the summer when I am wearing sandals. But for winter when i wear socks... no... i can't stand it.
No, I did not find anything. They actually had like no jeans on the clearance rack. And I am not about to pay full Old Navy price for a pair of jeans right now.
I did find on their 5$ tables a few shirts I wanted. Simple, long sleeved, light weight shirts, and one tank top that will do me in the summer. it's amazing how quickly those 5$ add up.
I also looked at the mens coats. honestly, my GAP coat that i have had since 2002 is really sad and pathetic, and you can see more of the guts of it from the outside than you should or is decent. I loath the idea of buying a new coat, but with how much I wear mine.. I should do something. Both my main winter coats, are dying. A slow and painful death. Both of them are at least 5 to 10 years old, (honestly my black bomber might even be 15 at this point as I bought it BEFORE moving to Colorado), and they have been worn hard and almost every day.
The only men's coat that was appealing to me, was not too bad looking, but the inside felt like.. well... felt. Which meant all my clothing will catch and I'll also always be miss static shock! I'm already electric people, I don't need another coat to add to it!
I didn't get a coat. But I did buy a men's thermal type shirt to replace my GAP one, which most certainly is about 10 years old, and is literally falling to pieces. Yes, I'm finally retiring it. Considering, I only spent 10$ on the new one, thats not bad. (I think my GAP one, I might have spent 30$ on. Ahh.. youth... with a bank account.. no cares... sheesh. Though, even if I did spend 30$ on it, that was nearly 10 years ago.. I think I got my money's worth!)

I wondered around a few other shops. I stopped at "It's Your Move" and spoke with dear Monsieur Weasley! You'll not know of him on this blog. But it was back from the Deathly Hallows release party at the mall I attended (the Borders)with my last roommate. He was the perfect Bill Weasley. He had the hair. The body type. The boots.. the earring. Yup. He was perfect. We flirted with him. Dot had a crush on him. Hell.. if I was single, I would have had a crush on him. And between you and meself.. if it had come down to a contest between me and Dot, I would have won hands down. Amanda (room mate before Dot, and ex roommate of Dot as well)learned that one quickly. The blokes always went after me if there was the option. Comes down to the fact that I have a flirty nature and most importantly confidence. Okay, I'm done tooting my own horn. But back to Monsieur Weasley. Whos name I just now remembered is Cody. We had run into each other enough over the last year and a half that he does remember me. He informed me that he has put in his notice, and that the end of the month is his last working there. He is moving back to New England. Ah well, I don't blame him one bit. Colorado Springs does not have many options for living. Unless you have a security clearance that is.

Moving along, I managed to resist the temptation of buying some Pretzel bites, even though they were smelling delish! And nothing in any of the stores that I frequent were appealing to me. I saw a shirt in Hot Topic that Mother of Mine mentioned she saw a girl wearing. it was "I (heart) boys who sparkle" Yes, it was in fact a Twilight reference. Sigh. I hate fangirls.
I looked for a pair of shoes, as the ones I currently am wearing for winter, are bothering me. I paid 7$ for them on my birthday, so I've gotten my money's worth out of them. But still, the are just a shade too small so my poor big thumb toes slightly hurt by the end of the day. (Wow.. that was a reference that took me back to my youth. Yes, I did in fact used to call my big toe the "big thumb toe")
I skiddaddled on home, only having been at the mall for an hour and a half. Not too bad all in all.
I have to say the crowds were not as bad as I imagined they would be. It actually reminded me of shopping in my youth at the Thousand Oaks mall. Yeah.. thats it. It was a normal day at the T.O mall was how crowded it was here for christmas. So it could have been a lot worse.

Mother of Mine is apparently not feeling well, so I have been chilling talking to my hunny and watching The Da Vinci Code this afternoon.

Today is the anniversary of meself and himself.
As of today, we only have 1.63 years left to go. That also breaks down to still being 17.5 months away.
Today, I also received my care package from himself.
The one that had all my pressies pretty much for the last year.
Our Yearly anniversary (which is different than today's anniversary, same date, different month), Valentines Day, My birthday.. and the Solstice. Or Christmas. Whatev.

I was told to open the box, as my Solstice presises were wrapped up. The others weren't. So it was safe.

I sat there with tears running down my face, bawling like a little girl as I looked at all the wonderful, and most importantly thoughtful things that my sweetie gathered for me.

I received two James Bond books:
Quantum of Solace
and Devil May Care

The irony is that I just finished reading Casino Royale this morning while I was at work. So the timing was perfect.

I also got a Torchwood book. "Another Life" (the first one)
A General History of the Robberies and Murders of the Most Notorious Pirates by Captain Charles Johnson (which I believe Mother of Mine will most likely steal.)
Chobits volume One

A beautiful bracelet from India, made of enameled copper and bronze tones (on copper- i think that it is copper), it looks like it depicts the sun and the moon, but I could be wrong. I don't know if it is something I would have chosen for myself, but I love it. (I think the reason I wouldn't have chosen it is the actual bracelet part is colors I don't think I would choose, light tanish brown tones, where i'm more darker tones when it comes to my browns) But I do love it. I will have to coat all the metal bits in clear nail polish, so that I can wear it. And I will take a photo of it sometime in the near future.

I also got some buttons, a grouping of Beatles buttons, Vampire buttons, and a little button that shows a flying witch, and says "Neighborhood Witch". It's cute. I like it a lot.
I got a Geek tag that says "wicked" on it, I'll have to change the chain on it, so that I can wear it with other things, as I like the tag.

I got a set of DVD's, Life on Mars being most prevalent on it. WIth a few other movies also burned. (Wall.e and Highlander (snerk.. like i don't already own that), and The Secret of NIMH - squeeeeeee I love that movie)
I finally had a chance to test my region hack for my dvd player.
Which appears to have worked... but... I still couldn't play the dvd's as the format was set to AVI... oh well, sweetie forgot to change that, or it didn't take when he changed it. It's alright. It plays on my laptop. And, I have him hunting down a cable that would work to hook my laptop up to my ANCIENT telly. (Seriously.. who still uses AV RYW cables??? Yeah. I do. And my telly is such crap, that it's just the Yellow White cables, not even the red cable. *sniff* that poor red cable just hangs limply down from the front of my telly looking all forlorn and unloved.)
Can I just say I cannot wait till I have a new Telly? I'm sick of the streaking I have down the top 3 inches of my telly, and the fact that it's so ancient to begin with. I doubt I'd be able to hook up a PS3 to it. (Sweetie and I will have a sweeeet setup to snuggle in front of. Not right away. It'll depend on the budget. But there will be HD. There will be Bluray. Oh yes, there will be a computer hard drive hooked up and set aside specifically for the telly.)

Meep Rambling. Sorry. Moving along, I also got a framed Doctor Who image thingie. It's got my Doctor (10.. technically 9 was the first Doctor I fell in love with, but I'm more than happy to claim 10 as my Doctor as well. I'm a bi doctor kind of girl.), an image of the Tardis, and a Dalek. There will be jealousy running rampant of all my friends. Oh yes, very much so.
Speaking of Doctor Who, and this blog being called "Journal of Impossible Things", those in charge, have decided to release as a toy.. John Smith (aka The Doctor)'s very own Journal of Impossible things.. SQUEEEE.

Sorry for the large picture size, but it's the little book thingie on the left side.
Sweetie of Mine has promised me that some day I will have it. Yay! It's just a toy, an in expensive toy at that, and I actually want to make one. Which I will some day. But having a little one like that means the future little Child of Mine will get to run around with a prop.

Hmmmm.. That almost gives me an idea. Mayhaps Alex (main character in novel- A Hard Day's Bite) should have a Journal of Impossible things for her ever changing world.

Or.. maybe I should leave that for my Steampunk world? Mayhaps it would fit better there... hmmm I'll have to ponder it.

Speaking of the novel (A Hard Day's Bite), I actually have a little research project for Mother of Mine, as she is the go to girl for the Scottish stuff, and for anything relating to Diana Gabaldon's world. Something in "A Breath of Snow and Ashes" stuck with me, and I want to know if it's actual myth or something Diana created. It's sad, a few years ago.. I would have been the go to person for the answer to this, but thats what happens when you break away from that world for so long.

Moving along (sheesh this is a long entry.. sorry peoples, I'm in a chatty mood)... I have been sucked in to Ravelry. It's a knitting ... BLACKHOLE. It sucks you in. I've joined many groups on it, and all of this is in hopes of getting my knitting skillz up. After all, I won't be able to run to Mother of Mine and ask her to make me things. I do need to learn for meself. Hmmm.. I wonder if mayhaps I'll mention some really cool knitted item in my novel and get my own group on Ravelry. That'd be neat. Hell, even if I don't mention something knitted in my novel, I could possibly end up with a group, as there are groups for everything and everyone. That'd be neat.

Okay, I guess I'm done rambling now. Later people
